For over twenty years, Rehabilitation Specialists has been providing community-based neurological rehabilitation for individuals with brain injury or neurological impairment.

Our community re-entry programs are tailored to meet the needs of individuals with cognitive, behavioral and physical dysfunctions relating to mild, moderate or major brain injury. Neurological disorders, such as strokes, brain tumors and multiple sclerosis.  We also work with people with learning disabilities.  Community programming allows clients to learn skills in real life settings rather than in clinical environments.  For example, clients learning to walk again may do so on the sidewalk in addition to a therapy gym.

Each client receives a comprehensive assessment.  Based on this assessment, the team members including the client, family, and funding source build a treatment plan in keeping with the rehabilitation needs of each client.  The assessment also includes a projected time frame, cost estimate and projected outcomes.  These projections are measured on a regular basis and are compared to actual progress.

Treatment sessions take place in a variety of locations such as in our Group Homes, Out Patient Rehabilitation Center, Supported Apartments, the client’s own home (Outreach Services) and or in the community.  Our community re-entry programs are dedicated to providing a safer, but realistic environment.
